Hello! I’m JaQuasia and I am your trainer in Myrtle Beach and surrounding areas. Here is a little bit about me.

I’ve been working and training in the dog industry for over 10 years. I began my career working at a veterinary office with an extensive behavior modification program. We helped dogs with all different type of issues to include separation anxiety, aggression, uncontrollable barking, and much more. I then moved to CT to train and sell police dogs. Which involved a lot of Detection training/ Nose work, tracking, trailing, and apprehension.

While in CT I also had the chance to do quite a bit of pet training! This is when I found a huge passion in helping owners develop a relationship with their dogs through training. My mission is to teach your dog a strong foundation in training and then teach and educate YOU the owner.

In my spare time I train and compete in IGP with my German Shepherds.

I have titled multiple dogs to IGP 3.
Competed at Regional championships with multiple dogs.
Competed at National championships with multiple dogs (WDC, GSDCA, AWDF)
Won Helper’s choice at GSDCA Nationals 2021.

As a new comer to the Morehead/ New Bern area I first adopted my dog without having the slightest clue as to how to train her. I went to several other dog trainers in an attempt to learn how to safely and effectively get her to be calm around other animals and people out in public. But unfortunately their methods were not cutting it. Will, Taylor, and the Carolinas Ridgeside K9 team has superseded all my expectations when I first entered my dog in for the off leash B&T. Not only Is she calm but she can finally be trusted off leash without strict supervision. The Ridgeside K9 team was very helpful and extremely professional when they were training me. Sending my dog to Ridgeside K9 NC was the best decision I made all year! Before the board and train, Walter was a bundle of energy who had no ability to self-calm. Every time we’d leave him, he would work himself up into a panic and bark non-stop. Since his board and train he’s a changed man! Not only is he obedient, but he is noticeably calmer and more relaxed both alone and with us. I can’t speak highly enough about the quality of training we experienced! I brought my dog (Apollo) to Ridgeside K9 Carolinas and it was honestly the best decision I've made. Before Ridgeside Apollo was very disobedient, would only listen on his terms, he would pull on-leash and off-leash he would try to run away. Now he is a totally different dog. Apollo listens when I give a command and he is so well trained he can be off-leash without me worrying he will take off. They also taught me the proper way to handle Apollo. The freedom he and I have now is absolutely amazing and we can go so many more places. Words can not describe how happy I am with Ridgeside K9 Carollinas. I would recommend them to anyone with a dog, they are the best!
