Puppy Training

Ridgeside K9 Eastern Carolinas Offers Professional Puppy Training Focusing On Potty Training, Basic Obedience and Socialization.

We Train Puppies On Potty Training, Basic Obedience and Socialization.

Getting a new puppy can be both exciting and scary, especially if you have never raised a puppy before. For first time owners, it’s important to note that puppies aren’t small furry humans— they are a completely different species with their own natural behaviors and desires.

All puppies must be consistently trained, or they may not grow up into that well-mannered, sweet, and loving dog that everyone dreams of having.

About Our Program.

Our puppy programs will lay the foundation of basic obedience training. In this program, your puppy will learn the basic commands of heel, sit, down, and place. We will start training at our facility and quickly progress to a public environment. We want to train the puppy in a public setting as much as we can so we can properly expose and socialize your puppy to all types of environments.

What Happens At The End?

At the end of the two-week board and train, we will spend 2-3 hours teaching you everything your puppy has learned and how to maintain it. We will educate you on the best way to raise a puppy, so you minimize issues down the road. Puppy training is just a foundation!

What’s Next?

After puppy training you can enroll your older puppy in our advanced three-week board and train obedience program. Here is where your pup will learn off-leash obedience and absolute control! Your pup will turn into a dog you can enjoy owning and spending time with, thanks to our expert guidance.

When Should I Start?

Immediately— you should go sign up for a puppy class as soon as possible. No puppy is too young to start training. We offer several options, such as a two-week board and train program where we get your puppy off to a good start. We also offer one-on-one training classes for owners who want to learn how to train their puppies, or who want to learn how to continue training their pups after graduation from one of our standard in-house puppy training programs.

What’s The Cost?

Our popular puppy university training is 2 weeks long and runs at $1,500. Our Puppy University focuses on educating you as owners on how to give your new puppy a healthy, structured, and exciting lifestyle. Complete the form. Tell us a little about your goals and what you’re looking for.

Even more important than potty training and basic obedience training is socialization. A well-socialized puppy will turn into a calm, stable adult, while an under-socialized puppy may very well turn into a fearful, frantic, anxious mess. Your puppy class can help with your socialization efforts by exposing your pup to new people, places, things, environments, and other puppies in a positive way with our expert guidance. The instructor can also provide guidance and advice on how to positively socialize your puppy outside of class.

Puppy Behavior Problems.

Training is essential in eliminating puppy behavioral problems. Some of these puppy behaviors may be: nipping, peeing in the house, chewing on and destroying practically anything, running away from owners, jumping on people, and pulling on the leash. Puppies naturally do all of these things and need to be trained and managed. Our puppy program helps eliminate some of these problems and educates you on how to manage your new puppy.
